Marcy has advocated for students with special needs for over 18 years. She has thousands of hours in observations, record reviews, provider consultations, and IEP meetings to ensure learner success, parent satisfaction, and provider understanding across public, private and parochial schools. 

Since 2009, she has performed advocacy through expert witness, classroom observations, education plan analysis, school selection, meeting representation, and more. She has served clients in several states across all disability codes from PreK to 12th grade. Her specialty is early childhood services. Marcy has certificates in MSDE 90-hour Child Development, Maryland Healthy Beginnings Early Childhood Development Guidelines, and Montessori Teacher Studies, among others. 

Her Bachelor’s degree is from Towson University and Master’s Degree is from the University of South Dakota. 

Marcy has provided hundreds of students, parents, and professionals with insightful strategies to make meaningful educational progress in public, private, or parochial classrooms. 

In 2007, she developed the first in the nation, Developmental Driver Education program at Montgomery College, where she programmed for students and supported faculty to assess and teach driving skills to students with Autism, Learning Disabilities, and other social and cognitive limitations. She also partnered with teachers to develop L.I.F.E. A.C.T. Language, an applied communication experience for transitioning-age young adults with intellectual disabilities, and Plant.Water.Grow., a parent education program for early childhood. 

She is also the co-author of P.A.R.E.N.T.S. Life Skills, Literacy and Leadership a remedial resource for parents ready for reunification. Mrs. Jackson is also the author of Pour the Water: Transformative Solutions for Equity and Justice in Special Education and Champion for SEE US: Special Education Excellence for Underserved Students, 

Marcy is a special education equity and justice champion, aware of the gaps in the disability education ecosystem, and is highly sensitive to the disparities that exist uniquely for Black students with special needs.

With over 20 years of experience in the field of special education, Dr. Susan Maggio is an educator, researcher, and informed advocate.  She has fostered professional growth through a variety of avenues: engaging in hands-on practice in the classroom with elementary, middle, and high school learners; supporting novice and veteran teachers with the alignment of curriculum, instruction, and assessment; safeguarding IEP compliance; and steadfast advocacy for individuals with special needs. 

Additionally, Dr. Maggio has a solid reputation for her leadership in special education including research and professional development in areas such as evidence-based instruction, positive behavioral strategies, and the analysis and application of data to make effective, informed decisions both in and out of the classroom. 

The experience of working with diverse individuals has afforded Dr. Maggio the skills to uphold a strong voice of advocacy by coupling rigorous expectations with individualized approaches to learning.  She takes pride in her positive, collaborative relationship with students, families, and school districts.  Her doctoral-level work allowed for an in-depth exploration of evidence-based research, aligning special education practices to appropriate learning expectations for students with special needs, particularly those with significant cognitive disabilities.

Dr. Maggio obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Towson University, and her doctorate degree from Johns Hopkins University.  Dr. Maggio resides in Maryland with her husband Joe and their three dogs, Pollyanna, Reba, and Cindy Lou.

After a successful internship with Olivez Education Grove and supporting SEE US, Yabez joins Olivez as a Student Assistant.  Yabez provides family navigation and case management support.  He is a student at Montgomery College studying Early Childhood and Special Education.
